I have suffered with mild to severe headaches since I was in High School.  When I got pregnant with my first child I was very worried because I knew I wouldn't be able to take my go to medication for headaches.  To my surprise, even though I suffered with Hyperemesis Gravidarum, my migraines were gone! That was almost four years ago, and they have slowly started creeping back into my life.  Here are some tried and true remedies that either eliminate headaches, or significantly decrease the pain: 

1.  Sleep it off.  I know this isn't always possible (especially with little ones), but it really is the best remedy.

2. Breathe deeply and slowly 5-10 times in a row. This is something my mother taught me growing up.  I usually breathe from my abdomen, but if I have a headache I change this up a bit.  I try to get as much oxygen to my brain as possible.  I close my eyes and take really deep breaths.  I almost imagine the oxygen going to my brain.  

3.  Drink a glassful of water. It doesn't need to be super cold, just room temperate will do.

4.  Massage temples and neck with peppermint essential oil.  THIS is awesome! The peppermint makes your head cold and tingly.  If you have extra sensitive skin you may want to just try rubbing Peppermint scented Lexie:Lotion on your temples and neck.  It won't be as strong as the straight peppermint oil, but will still give you that cool sensation.  Even the Peppermint Lexie:Lip will work if you already have some.   

You should exercise caution when using any essential oil.  You can start by mixing a drop or two of peppermint EO with 5-10 drops of a carrier oil (like olive or coconut).  Or, you can apply using Lexie:Lotion or Lexie:Lip as mentioned above.

Hi, readers!  I am VERY BUSY filling orders (which is a good thing) because a lot of people are ordering to give as gifts this Christmas, which really excites me!  I'm thrilled that, for every tube of lip balm or pack of lotion I hand to a customer, there is one more person who will be using a NATURAL product without any chemicals.  :)  


A few things:


1.  At this point my turn around time is about 1 1/2 weeks.  I am filling orders as fast as I can but I've had two HUGE orders that has depleted most of what I had left in stock from the craft fair (and I'm still working on one of those orders).  So, just know that I am going as fast as I can.  :)


2.  I installed a new way to comment so that I can reply to individual comments (that you can subscribe to if you ask me a question).  This is great and I'm super excited BUT I've LOST ALL MY OLD COMMENTS.  :(  I'm sad about this because you all had offered some great suggestions and asked some great questions.  SO SORRY! 


3.  I will be posting a blog in the next week or two about what we made this year as homemade gifts for our family (along with gifts we are buying through Samaritan's Purse or Compassion).  I'm so excited to share it with you!  I'll give you a hint: it involves something you probably wouldn't normally buy AND it involves glass (or course).  :)
