Announcing our New Online Store {And a Picture Tutorial to Get You Started}

I am very thrilled to announce that our new site is up and running!  I would say I've been working hard to get it finished, but really my friend Lawson Culver, owner of NFPCharting.com, has done most of the work. :) 

Our new store has already made things run much more smoothly on our end (and we hope those of you who've ordered have noticed the same).  You can now pay via your PayPal account OR through PayPal with a credit/debit card!  

You can still find us on the blog, facebook, and twitter; however, the main site is now the online store.  

I would be thrilled if you'd click on over and take a look at the new site!  Feel free to check out this picture tour guide that highlights some of the features before you go: 

One of my favorite features is the Log In button (located in the top left corner).  You can browse as a guest, but by creating a profile with Lexie:Naturals you can track your order, shop faster, write reviews, and review previous orders.  You can even sign up for newsletters (but this isn't required).  

You will notice the pages at the top are still the same.  I will be adding new information to them soon, but you will still be able to get to the blog and check out all of the other resources that are also on the blog.  

The product categories are located on the left side bar.  You can click into each of the categories to view the products.  Right now our categories include deodorant, diaper cream (lotion in a tube), lip balm, and lotion.

 

At the bottom of the left side bar you will find an information box    with...information.  :)

When you actually click into a product you will see information regarding each product.  Please read the descriptions because the pictures do not always match the product completely (for example, the listing may be for one Lexie:Deo but there are two in the picture).  We are working on changing this, but in the meantime, please read.  :)  

To add something to your cart simply put in the quantity and hit "add this to my cart."  From there you can estimate shipping, check out, or continue shopping.  Even if you don't have PayPal you can still use PayPal to pay with a credit or debit card (we suggest only using debit... because we are frugal people here at Lexie:Naturals).  

The last thing I want to show you is the review button!  I'm so excited about this feature.  The lovely customers (that's you) at Lexie:Naturals email us almost daily raving about our products.  Now you have a chance to tell everyone else about it too!  I would love to see your reviews on the page.

I made the switch to aluminum free deodorant when I was a teenager after my dermatologist request that I do so.

Here are a FEW reasons why I prefer aluminum free deodorant:

• Research shows that the use of aluminum free deodorants is healthier for our bodies.
• People with skin sensitivities often have adverse reactions to the aluminum in deodorant.  
• Aluminum blocks a person from sweating and clogs sweat glands.  We sweat to remove toxins and regulate body temperature, something that can't happen as easily when we are kept from sweating.
• Aluminum soaks directly into the body through the skin; unlike other metals and minerals, our bodies have no use for aluminum.  As a nursing mom, this is even more unsettling.  
• Aluminum has been linked to kidney issues, Alzheimer's disease, seizures, and breast cancer (it has even been found in breast cancer cells).
• Deodorants and anti-perspirants mask odor by keeping your body from doing its job; however, aluminum free deodorants work to kill the odor causing bacteria.

There are several natural deodorant options available at your local store.  You will need to look at the active ingredients list to see if it contains aluminum.  You want to make sure you are buying deodorant and NOT anti-perspirant (that's what generally contains the aluminum).  You can also find vegetable based deodorant at specialty stores.

I honestly have not found a store bought deodorant (containing aluminum or not) that works for me, so I set out to make my own.  After testing several recipes, I finally created the perfect deodorant for me.  You can find the recipe here.

Hi, readers!  I am VERY BUSY filling orders (which is a good thing) because a lot of people are ordering to give as gifts this Christmas, which really excites me!  I'm thrilled that, for every tube of lip balm or pack of lotion I hand to a customer, there is one more person who will be using a NATURAL product without any chemicals.  :)  


A few things:


1.  At this point my turn around time is about 1 1/2 weeks.  I am filling orders as fast as I can but I've had two HUGE orders that has depleted most of what I had left in stock from the craft fair (and I'm still working on one of those orders).  So, just know that I am going as fast as I can.  :)


2.  I installed a new way to comment so that I can reply to individual comments (that you can subscribe to if you ask me a question).  This is great and I'm super excited BUT I've LOST ALL MY OLD COMMENTS.  :(  I'm sad about this because you all had offered some great suggestions and asked some great questions.  SO SORRY! 


3.  I will be posting a blog in the next week or two about what we made this year as homemade gifts for our family (along with gifts we are buying through Samaritan's Purse or Compassion).  I'm so excited to share it with you!  I'll give you a hint: it involves something you probably wouldn't normally buy AND it involves glass (or course).  :)

I am going to be participating in the LHBC Craft Fair on Saturday, November 19th!  I have been trying to prepare for it, but I still have a lot to do.  This means I'm going to have to cut off orders.  :(  

If you'd like to place an order by Thursday, November 10, 2011 I can fill it this week.  However, if you'd like to place an order between November 11-November 27, it will be filled the week of November 28 (this is the week after Thanksgiving).  I'm terribly sorry for any inconvenience.  :)

I will run a sale the day after Thanksgiving though, so you may want to wait until then anyway!
