My soaping journey began about 2 years ago. I'd always wanted to make soap for my family, but it seemed like one of those scary things where I didn't even know where to start. I thought it would be difficult and that I'd fail. I was right - sort of!
My first soap  making attempt, AKA "The Eruption," 2012
My first attempt at making soap was with some friends who'd also never made soap. Mistake number one. If you want to learn to make soap, invite someone over who has made it before. :) We bought the ingredients, read the directions, apparently suited up with protective garbage bags (why?), measured, poured, and mixed and mixed and mixed. Then, our soap volcanoed all over the counter. And it turned an ugly brown color. We were all afraid to use our soap, but we all did anyway - and it worked! We had succeeded!
A soap loaf we made last month using
our homemade soap mold.
I'm certainly no pro, but I've come along way in 2 years! I'm pretty confident in the process of making a cold process soap, yet I'm always learning new techniques and ways to use all natural ingredients.

One reason I wanted to make my own soap (as with all my products) is because it's hard to find a truly natural soap. There are many, many companies and small businesses who claim to be natural, but few actually are. We pride ourselves in using quality ingredients without the use of synthetic colors or fragrances. Yes, this makes for a somewhat plainer soap, but we think it's worth it (and hope you will too).

Our soap bars have a rich lather, and they nourish as they cleanse. All of our soaps are handmade and hand cut from the soap loaf by yours truly. The bars are approximately 1" thick, 3.5 " wide, and 2.5 " tall. It will come to you hand-wrapped, labeled, and ready to use.

Our soaps last the longest when they are kept dry between uses. This can be done using a container with a drain for the shower or a soap-saver dish for the counter. Most soap bars can be used to cleanse the body, face, and hair.

Without further ado, meet Lexie:Lather!
